Suspension Repair in Cincinnati, OH

Clunks over bumps, a car that wanders, a bouncy ride or tires wearing on one edge. We find the worn part and replace it.

Suspension at J&W

Worn slowly. Felt every day.

Suspension parts wear slowly, so most people get used to the symptoms: a clunk over the same pothole every morning, a car that needs constant correcting on I-75, or a ride that keeps bouncing after a dip. Worn parts don’t just ride badly. They wear out tires and lengthen stopping distances.

We get the car in the air, check the joints, bushings, bearings and boots for play and damage, and road-test it. Then you know which parts are worn and which are fine.

What we do

Suspension Repair, covered.

  1. Shocks and struts

Worn dampers replaced, usually in pairs so the car stays even.

  2. Ball joints and control arms

Play and torn boots caught before a joint separates.

  3. Tie rods and steering parts

Inner and outer tie rods and steering components.

  4. Wheel bearings and hubs

    Noisy or loose bearings replaced.

  5. CV axles and boots

Torn boots and clicking joints, replaced before they let go.

  6. Sway bar links and bushings

The usual suspects behind small clunks.

Something else? Call or text (513) 760-4822 and ask. Mon–Fri 10 AM–6 PM · Sat–Sun 10 AM–3 PM.

Should struts be replaced in pairs?

Usually, yes. One new strut next to a worn one makes the car handle unevenly from side to side.

What’s that clicking when I turn?

Often a worn CV joint, especially if its rubber boot is torn and slinging grease. Caught early it’s an axle replacement; ignored, it can fail on the road.

Why are my tires wearing on one edge?

Worn suspension parts and alignment are the usual causes. We check the parts for play first, because aligning a car with loose parts doesn’t hold.

Can you look at it if it only clunks sometimes?

Yes. Tell us where and when it happens (a certain driveway, a sharp turn, railroad tracks) and we’ll try to reproduce it on a test drive.
